Hi, I am reproducing (in part) what Skipper once told me hoping it will motivate us all.
"Self Help and innovation is a state of mind and needs to be cultivated and essentially means that you will NEVER buy anything before you explore the possibility of MAKING/BUILDING/DOING It Yourself. It helps nurture self confidence, reduces dependence, increases patience, asserts individuality, develops innate skills, encourages logical/practical thinking, forces simplification of the seemingly complex and also saves tons of money. It is easy, gratifying, relaxing, therapeutic and better than yoga or meditation. If you are thinking of gardening, think of making a unique pot or making compost. Buying a lampshade? Make one instead. Replacing a mixer, repair it. Everything on DiY club is aimed at developing these mental and physical skills. Forcing you to think out of the box, letting your imagination go wild and then realising it. There are a lot of people waiting to help and seek help. Nothing is impossible, till you think so". - Skipper
I seem to be losing my touch. First Avril and now you. I hope I can at least contribute in 'YOUR' forum. Nice topic and nice starting comment. Keep it up.
Hi Malini. Of several people I have known, you are one of the few who are certainly ambidextrous. Hoping to see those endearing qualities and that incisive mind of yours at work here.
