Hi, I am reproducing (in part) what Skipper once told me hoping it will motivate us all.
"Self Help and innovation is a state of mind and needs to be cultivated and essentially means that you will NEVER buy anything before you explore the possibility of MAKING/BUILDING/DOING It Yourself. It helps nurture self confidence, reduces dependence, increases patience, asserts individuality, develops innate skills, encourages logical/practical thinking, forces simplification of the seemingly complex and also saves tons of money. It is easy, gratifying, relaxing, therapeutic and better than yoga or meditation. If you are thinking of gardening, think of making a unique pot or making compost. Buying a lampshade? Make one instead. Replacing a mixer, repair it. Everything on DiY club is aimed at developing these mental and physical skills. Forcing you to think out of the box, letting your imagination go wild and then realising it. There are a lot of people waiting to help and seek help. Nothing is impossible, till you think so". - Skipper
Yes we do manufacture the Solar LED Lighting. (Kwality Electricals P ltd- http://LED-ecolight.page.tl), which basically involve ability to design LED constant current driver circuits, Battery charging and battery protection circuit ad well as auxiliary features of DUSK-to-dawn controls etc.
The foundation support comes from LEDs manufacturing company - the Kwality Photonics P ltd - www.kwalityindia.com.
The LEDs have come a long way from efficiency of 30Luemnsper watt(LPW) in 2006 to 100LPW in 2008, which exceed that of Incandescent (13LPW), CFL(55LPW), TL(60 LPW). THought LEDs are expensice as now( US$2/watt) , they need half the power for given light levels, so the Solar Panel costs become halved, leading to lower cost of the rural/remote area lighting system.
Thanks Avril for the invite.
I'll try to send some info on sunday, which is usually my free day.
Do remind me if you still remember , as I am very forgetful person.
Hey Avril. Nice discussion ( I would like to....). But you beat me to it. I was thinking on the same lines but was stuck for a title. Proves that time and tide may wait, but inventors don't. Keep it up.
